• Heart of Hospice Award renamed in honor of Steve Ackley
Steve Ackley was a chaplain at Covenant Hospice. Diagnosed with cancer of the kidney in 2005, he continued to work for our company until December 2005. He was awarded the Heart of Hospice Award at our winter banquet -- the highest award in the company. At his funeral in January 2006, his wife was notified that the award name was changed to the Steve Ackley Heart of Hospice Award, where his memory will be honored forever.

Kate was paralyzed with a double brainstem stroke for 77 days and could not
communicate with the outside world. She and her husband were the guest speakers at last year's Covenant Hospice Christmas party.
